Mendocino HRE Presents on the Redwood Health Information Collaborative

On January 25, 2006, Will Ross of the Mendocino Health Records Exchange presented a report on the Redwood Health Information Collaborative.

The Mendocino HRE is a demonstration rural Sub Network Organization (SNO) on the Connecting for Health team that is building a Prototype of the National Health Information Network (NHIN) for HHS, using OpenHRE software.

The Redwood Health Information Collaborative is a community-based planning project to develop operations and governance solutions for a local Health Information Exchange (HIE) as a SNO participating in the NHIN.

The Collaborative is led by the Mendocino County Department of Public Health in collaboration with Redwood MedNet (dba Mendocino HRE) and the Mendocino SHARE project (operated by the Alliance for Rural Community Health).

The Redwood Health Information Collaborative is funded by a grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
